Who We Are
SSMAD is a grassroots group started by concerned mother's.
Seneca & Salamanca Mother’s is a grass roots group who advocates to stop drug use and illegal drug sales in our community. We hope to create awareness about the dangers our community faces as a result of the increased drug epidemic.

Our Approach
To make the community safe for all.
We offer regular community meetings to bring updates and create community awareness. We partner with agencies such as Seneca Strong to offer Narcan training and to make Narcan, Fentanyl test strips and Xylazine (horse tranquilizer) test strips available to community members.
Education, awareness and support are key in preventing addiction and overdose.
We are also looking to educate our youth about the dangers of drugs and find ways to bring our community closer together.

Our group was started originally on the Cattaraugus Territory by Seneca Mother’s who were tired of seeing our youth struggle with addiction. It was then decided that we also needed to address the same concerns on the Allegany Territory. That is when SSMAD/Seneca & Salamanca Mother’s Against Drugs.
